Abstract
La chiusura dello stabilimento Fiat di Termini Imerese ha rappresentato un evento tragico che ha coinvolto migliaia di persone. Tuttavia, tale evento ha creato le condizioni per cui diversi attori sociali (cittadini e istituzioni) hanno cominciato a operare un processo immaginario volto alla rimodulazione e alla risemantizzazione dello spazio della fabbrica dismessa. Attraverso un’attenta analisi etnografica dell’istallazione e della chiusura dello stabilimento, l’articolo tenta di ricostruire le basi di questo processo mitopoietico.
The closure of Fiat’s plant of Termini Imerese is a tragic event that involved thousands of people. However, this event created a situation in which different social agents (citizens and institutions) started an imaginary process aimed to re-modulate and give a new meaning to the space of the closed factory. Through a strong ethnographic analysis of the process of installation and closure of the plant, this article attempts to reconstruct the base of this mythopoeia.
